Spoiler Alert: I'm A Nerd!
Hi, I'm Heather, and I currently reside in the Great
White North of Canada. More specifically, I live in
Toronto, Ontario, with my husband, our two
daughters, and our two furry babies.
Since November 2017, I have been the voice behind Pull Up a Loop Designs and Up All Night Crochet. After I quit smoking, I needed something to keep my hands busy. Coming from a long line of knitters, sewers, and crocheters, I decided to try my hand at crochet.
I immersed myself in YouTube tutorials, asked endless questions of the talented women in my
family, especially my mom and aunties, and practiced whenever I had the opportunity. Nine
years later, I am still smoke-free and proud to call myself a skilled crocheter.
In that relatively short time, I launched my own website, joined crochet groups that create and
donate handmade items to hospitals and shelters, and fell in love with every moment of this
journey.
Every creation fills me with pride, not just because of its beauty, but because of what it represents. Along the way, I discovered that crochet became much more than a hobby. It became a powerful tool for supporting my mental health. The focus, creativity, and sense of accomplishment help me manage my struggles with self-doubt, anxiety, and panic attacks, while providing a sense of calm and purpose.
Thanks to the support and encouragement of family and friends, word of my self-taught talent has spread, and I have been fortunate to gain recognition for my work. Today, I am excited to share my passion with others. The possibilities with yarn are truly endless, and I am constantly inspired by what can be created with a hook, some yarn, and a little imagination.
